Jakarta, 14/11/2022 Ministry of Finance – Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara revealed that digital economic transformation has become a topic of discussion in the international world, one of which was at the G20 meeting in Bali. This topic is one of three priority issues raised in Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
"Currently in discussions at the G20, the digital economic issue is a very strategic, dynamic and comprehensive discussion of how in coordination between countries we appreciate that digitalization will emerge. "We don't want this digitalization to become a barrier between countries, but we want economic digitalization, digitalization in the world to become a connection between countries," said the Deputy Minister of Finance online in the National Seminar at Dhyana Pura University with the topic "Digital-Based Financial Transformation in Increasing Community and National Creative Economic Growth " on Monday (14/11).
At the G20 meeting in Bali, digital economic transformation discussed three main issues, namely connectivity and recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, digital capabilities and digital literacy, and data flows across national borders. The discussion aims to ensure that the world together recovers more quickly from the pandemic and recovers from various global problems, in accordance with the theme of the Indonesian G20 Presidency "Recover Together, Recover Stronger".
"I hope that this G20 activity will then become a movement that will advance Bali and then provide space for further increases in economic activity," said the Deputy Minister of Finance.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Finance explained that the Covid-19 pandemic was a momentum to accelerate digital transformation. The development and use of digital technology needs to be optimized to support and improve the quality of services to the community in various fields, such as government, education, health, trade and industry, population administration, and the financial sector.
“These are areas of the Indonesian economy where digitalization is very important for us to continue to encourage. "Coordination must be carried out more quickly, efficiently, but still productively and with good governance," said the Deputy Minister of Finance.
